RARE EGYPTIAN PAPYRUS MODEL OF BOAT - MUSEUM EXHIBITED
Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. An incredibly rare papyrus model of a boat composed of papyrus fibres in the shape of a boat with an enlarged body and raised edges. Size: 570mm x 200mm; Weight: 610g. Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Exhibited at Antikenmuseum Basel from July 2003 until 2014. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement from Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
