SASANIAN WHEEL-CUT GLASS BEAKER
Ca. AD 500 - 600. A mould-made glass cup with a thick-walled body adorned with meticulously spaced circular facets. A large and deeply cut facet on the base provides a stable surface upon which it rests. These facets create a sparkling effect when held to the light. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Accession Number: 59.34. Size: 85mm x 85mm; Weight: 230g. Provenance: Ex. Russkin collection, formed in the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
