ELAMITE SILVER EARRINGS
Ca. 1200 - 900 BC.A pair of silver earrings, each with a round-section hoop featuring a slit opening. Along the outer edge of each hoop, three fine granules are applied. Suspended from each hoop is an oval-shaped element joined at its top with additional granule ornamentation. The central, short shaft at the bottom of each earring is surrounded by diagonally positioned rods formed from small granules.Size: 65-65mm x 30-30mm; Weight: 71g.Provenance: London collection; Ex. Mayfair collection, acquired from an Ancient Art gallery; formerly acquired on the London art market pre-2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
