Pasini & nbsp; was an Italian painter active in second half of the nineteenth century. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Parma where he enrolled in the Landscape section. He participated in the first war of independence and after having stayed for short periods in Turin and Geneva he moved to Paris where he studied orientalist painting in the studio of Théodore Chassériau. In 1855 he participated as a draftsman in a diplomatic mission of the French government in Persia, Turkey, Syria, Arabia and Egypt. In this period he deepened his painting with exotic features, elements that also emerge in the proposed work.He received many and important honors such as the Medal of Honor for painting, the medal of the Legion of Honor from Napoleon III and finally a medal of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus by the king of Italy
