Rare: The Book of the War of Samuel – A polemic against the Christians, with a poem by Rabbi Yonatan Eibshitz. Jerusalem, 1900.

Pamphlet "The War of Samuel – A critique and notes on the Book of Matthew, it should not be called Matthew but misleading, I am revealing its flaws and stirring against it, to show the lovers of truth its lies and falsehoods...". Written by Rabbi Shmuel Shmelka Winterov. Jerusalem, 1900.

Unique and rare edition.

At the beginning of the book is a poem by Rabbi Yonatan Eibshitz "And this time it reached me in old handwriting... I have not seen it printed until now".

In European countries, Jews lived close to Christians, and various polemics arose from time to time, even writings were made for this purpose. However, in Jerusalem, there were hardly any disputes with Christians, and this book is one of the few polemic books printed in Jerusalem against the Christians.

With a letter and notes by Dr. Elazar Grinout.
8 pages, 16 cm. Including original cover with German title page.
Good-medium condition. A few wormholes on the last pages. Slight time marks. The cover is worn.
