Inuit Inupiat Yupik Arctic Cod Hook Artifacts (2)
2 artifact pieces of hand-carved fossilized walrus bone fish hooks used for catching Arctic cod. These hooks are of 2-piece construction. These artifacts were excavated at Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska by Native Americans (possibly old Bering Sea). The hooks have been re-tied w/ sinew by Native Americans. These items are rare & authentic, becoming harder to find each season in Savoonga. Items measure approx. 3" & 4" long respectively & are more than 175 years old.
