6RN7cB Battle of the Atlantic Signed E Hawkins GC and Alan Burn in the Action. 26 May 93 Liverpool postmark on 24p Marine Timekeeper stamp. Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic 24 to 31 May 1993. Personally Signed by Eynon Hawkins George Cross Holder. Served as an Able Seaman ( Gunner) in the Motor Tanker 'British Dominion' Torpedoed and sunk off the Canary Islands on 11th January 1943. Awarded the Albert Medal for Great Bravery at Sea. This Medal was succeeded by the George cross in 1971. Also Signed by Alan Burn. Served as a Lieutenant ( Gunnery Officer) to the late Captain F J Walker CB DSO** RN in HMS Starling during the time when 15 U - Boats were sunk. Author of ' The Fighting Captain. 4 Black and White Photo's enclosed with details. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
