A Schnitzler & Kirschbaum Prussian light cavalry saber, possibly for a hussar. This example features a steel hilt with a D-shaped (stirrup) knuckle guard and wire-bound leather grip. The scabbard is made of steel with a leather belt attachment. The ricasso has the manufacturer's mark (S&K) imprinted.
Prussia, 19th Century.
L: 39 3/4 in., (101 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall. Expected signs of age and wear. The scabbard is dented in places.
