A VICTORIAN TRIDENT PARRYING DAGGER IN THE RENAISSANCE STYLE
This Victorian-era dagger was made to resemble a trident parrying dagger of the Renaissance. Trident daggers are typified by their spring-loaded prongs which separate from the main body of the blade when a button is depressed. The purpose of the prongs is defensive, designed to catch an opponent's sword blade with one's offhand while attacking with the dominant hand.
England, Victorian Era.
