A RARE SWISS HOLBEIN DAGGER IN GILT SILVER MOUNTS, CA. 1750
With a gilt silver hilt and mounted scabbard, wood hilt, and Damascus blade marked with a stamped "X." The Scabbard mounts in pierced designs with a red velvet cloth underneath, it depicts a knight fighting scene with spears, swords, and on horseback, the reverse is decorated with engraved interwoven laces, scabbard tip stylized as a mythical head. All scabbard mounts are gilt silver. Small knife and fork utensils in the scabbard.

The blade is in its original form and has not been resharpened. The hilt is tight and the original gilding is almost entirely preserved. The wooden handle has a few minor scratches. The gilt silver scabbards show expected signs of age. Tiny dent towards the tip of the scabbard on the backside. The fabric is original and has a small loss.
