AN INDO-PERSIAN QAJAR PERIOD DHAL SHIELD WITH SILVER AND BRASS INLAY

The shield is elaborately decorated with etched cartouches between the sunbeams. The cartouches depict human and mythological figures, as well as animals. The shield is further embellished with Arabic inscriptions around the rim.

A nice example of 19th-century Indo-Persian armor.
