A FLINTLOCK PISTOL, BRILLIANTLY ENGRAVED, PROBABLY GERMAN OR DUTCH, C. 1750
A brilliantly engraved and shining flintlock pistol decorated across every part of its metal surfaces with extravagant floral designs as well as images of horseback riders and animals. The trigger-guard in particular is decorated with a Freiherr crown, a symbol of rank in Germanic culture equivalent to that of a Baron in England.
Bore diameter: 13 mm.
