A NORTH AFRICAN KABYLE STYLE SNAPHAUNCE MUSKET, 19TH CEN.
A snaphaunce type musket in a style most commonly seen amongst the Berber Kabyle people of Northern Africa. This musket is comprised entirely of metal decorated in various styles, with its stock being covered in silver and niello as well as colorful enamel panels, its many barrel bands being chased, and its long barrel ending in a flared, trumpet-like muzzle.
North Africa, 19th Century.
