Numéroté 194, in folio, couverture illustrée en couleurs, attachée avec des lacets rouges.
Illustrations en couleurs de l’artiste orientaliste italien Raffaele Mainella (1856-1941).

Quelques déchirures à la couverture fragile, partie intérieure bien conservée.

Maria Star (pseudonyme d’Ernesta Stern) était un auteur français d’origine italienne. Elle était surtout connue pour ses contes et romans vénitiens.
Mainella a étudié à l’Accademia di Belle Arti de Naples, en Italie, et s’est inspirée de ses voyages en Grèce, en Syrie, en Palestine et en Égypte. En 1897, sa riche collection d’aquarelles d’Égypte, de Terre Sainte et de Venise a été exposée à l’Exposition internationale d’art de Venise et a trouvé de nombreux admirateurs et acheteurs, parmi lesquels Ernesta Stern. Ce livre a été tiré à 300 exemplaires.
