All issues in publisher's covers. In good condition. Minor soiling on some covers, occasional foxing, partial loss of cover fragments (Nos. 9-10), tears along the spine (Nos. 31-32, 42-44).
The initiator and editor-publisher of the journal was the talented poet and translator, well-known in the literary and artistic circles of the Russian diaspora, Sofia Yulievna Pregel (1897–1972).
Initially, the journal featured contributions from emigrants who had found themselves in the United States, either long ago or recently: G. Grebenshchikov, S. Dubnova, O. Dymov, N. Kodryanskaya, S. Kusevitsky, A. Lurie, Yu. Sazonova, M. Slonim, V. Sukhomlin, N. Fedorova (Ryazanovskaya), R. Yakobson, and others. Over time, as the journal became known in Europe, the circle of authors expanded significantly. Already in the second issue (1942), a story by I. Bunin titled "Tri Rublya" ["Three Rubles"] appeared. In No. 6 for 1943, a fairy tale by A. Remizov titled "Mavka" was printed, and in 1942, in Nos. 2 and 7, there were poems by B. Bozhnev, in No. 5 - A. Eysner, in No. 8 - Yu. Sofieva, and so on.
The journal was publoshed for over eight years.
