The diary entries of Emperor Nicholas II document the everyday life events of the imperial family and its close circle. The author's daily routine, activities, meetings with ministers, military commanders, reading of state documents, signing of orders, travels across the country, and participation in inspections and military parades are all recorded. The diary also reflects the author's stance on the existing system and constitutional reforms. Each diary excerpt is accompanied by brief explanatory remarks characterizing the period to which it belongs.
