The document being an order of payment sent to the Treasurer Raymond Phelipeaux requesting him to pay to `… we want and order you to pay from the extraordinary expenses budget of the present year… to Sieur de la Vallée, Lieutenant of artillery in Bretagne, the sum of two thousand pounds, for his services..´ Countersigned `By the King, Suze´, Count Louis de Champagne, Minister under Henry IV. Also signed to the verso by Pierre de Maupeou (1533.1641), Counselor of State, and Controller of the State finances. Full transcription included. Overall age wear. G
