Japanese 19th Century Science and economics books, Fukuchi Genichiro
Lot of 3 Japanese 19th century science, diplomacy and economics books, traditional Japanese bindings, woodblock printed on double-leaves of ricepaper:
*Fukuchi Genichiro (福地源一郎), Kaishaben (官版 会社辯, Treatise on banking), by Fukuchi Genichiro, published by the ministry of finance, Japan, 1872. One volume. 22.5 cm. Good condition (slight stains, wear and stain to cover). This pioneering work, a translation and abridgment of books by J. S. Mill and Francis Wayland, explained the role of “exchange” in an economy; and the functions, operation, and regulation of a banking system.
*Fukuchi Genichiro, Gaikoku kosai koho (外国交際公法, Treatise on Diplomacy), translated by Fukuchi from the English translation of the German original of Baron Richard Marten's book on diplomacy, 1869. 2 volumes. 23 cm. Good condition.
3. Introduction to Dynamics (Jugaku Sen’setsu Zen, 重學淺説), by Alexander Wylie (1815-1916), originally published in Shanghai in 1858. Featuring many woodblock illustrations. 22.5 cm. Good condition (flaws to cover and binding).
