AN EARLY VICTORIAN MOHAGANY MARINE CHRONOMETER. London, c. 1840. Made by John Fletcher, Maker to the Admiralty. Antique nautical chronometer in brass accented mahogany box. With the original winding key. Box with John Fletcher, London plaque.. Clock face marked: "John Fletcher / Maker to the Admiralty / 148 Leadenhall St / London 2747." The box is 7.5" x 7" x 7" . The box has handling wear, cracks and marks consistent with age and use. Not tested nor has the movement been inspected. Some tarnish and corrosion to brass.
