A PARTHIAN BRONZE LION, MID 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
A bronze lion dates to the mid 1st-2nd century A.D. during the Parthian Empire. The bronze figure features a seated lion with intricate details in its muscular body and expressive face. The lion’s open mouth and poised stance convey both strength and vigilance, symbolising power in Parthian culture.
The hollow underside and distinct wear patterns suggest it might have been used as a decorative or ritualistic object, possibly attached to furniture or another structure.
