1988 United States Mint Proof Set 5 coins. 1988 United States Proof Set 5 coins. The Set contains 5 coins, the Kennedy Half, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. All coins were minted at the San Francisco Mint with the “S” mint mark. The five coins were placed within individual holes in textured purple cardboard. This was sealed within a single plastic lens. The outer box was a matching shade of purple and had the words “United States Proof Set 19__” in silver printing.
