GIANCARLO SBRAGIA - PHOTO WITH AUTOGRAPH
Giancarlo Sbragia (Rome, March 14, 1926 – Rome, June 28, 1994) was an Italian actor, theater director, and playwright.
During his long career, he worked with the protagonists of twentieth-century Italian theater and with great names in culture, such as Eduardo De Filippo, Luchino Visconti, Giorgio Strehler, Renzo Ricci, Michelangelo Antonioni, Gino Cervi, Guido Salvini, Enrico Maria Salerno, and Federico Fellini, trying his hand with equal skill in both classics and modern works.
Sbragia also successfully dedicated himself to theater directing, in which he made his debut by directing and starring in the first Italian edition of Ricorda con rabbia by the English playwright John Osborne (1957-58 season). In addition to having ranged across every genre of text - from ancient comedies and tragedies to contemporary dramas - he was an author himself: in fact he wrote and staged some works, such as Le veglie inutile, Quarta era (with Gian Domenico Giagni, from the investigative book Gli apprendisti stregoni by Robert Jungk) on the first atomic bomb, Le confessioni della Signora Elvira (with Mino Roli), Il fattoccio del giugno, which recalls the assassination of Giacomo Matteotti, Musica e lazzi dalla commedia dell'arte (with Cesare Brero).
Original autograph of the famous actor and director, on a beautiful period portrait.
