Talking Machine Toys - Black Americana Toys - The Boxers & Ragtime Rastus c. 1915 w/Box
Ragtime Rastus and The Boxers talking machine toys. The Boxers fit in a platform holder that fits onto a Victrola or 78 record player. The fitting turns the holder and causes the figures to jump around when turning. Holder is stamped "National Toy Co Boston Mass USA Patented March 10, 1915". Boxers have carved and painted wooden bodies, plastic arms and legs. Approximately 4.5 inches in height. Rastus has carved body and jointed legs, plastic arms and stands about 6 inches tall. Rastus is interchangeable with the boxers in the fitting. Good condition, wear to the paint but all pieces appear to be intact. Box is in fair condition, still retains its shape, some tearing to the lid and fading/loss of description and graphics. See Photos
