An English Victorian silver inkwell - London 1850-1851, Smith Nicholson & Co.
oblong shape with side handles and central taperstick candle holder flanked by two silver mounted cut glass ink bottles, resting on four foliate foot. Stand fully hallmarked London 1850-1851, silversmiths Smith, Nicholson & Co. (Stephen Smith & William Nicholson), working in Duke Street, Lincolns Inn Fields, London. All other parts fully hallmarked London 1881-1882, silversmith Robert Harper. Dimensions 36 x 23.5 cm, height overall 14 cm. Total weight 1644 gr. Item condition grading: **** good.
