The second volume was not completed by reason of the murder of the author. The book was prepared for publication by the Russian historian Y.G. Felshtinsky well known in the foreign countries basing on Trotsky’s manuscript, being kept in the Boston archive of the author.
The biography appeared in the USSR in 1990 becoming a bestseller.
