SAMORODOK GOLD CIGARETTE CASE.
By Blank, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917.
Rectangular in shape, rounded at the edges, hinged lid opening to a gold socket set with a cabochon sapphire, with applied decoration of the imperial eagle of the Romanoffs finely chased and set in the center with a diamond. Preserved in its original red leather case stamped with the imperial gold emblem, inside the form, velvet and silk ivory color. Good condition, slight wear of the time to the case, but good general condition.
Title stamp: 56, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917.
Goldsmith's marks: C. B. (Carl Carlovitch Blank).
H.: 9,5 cm - W.: 6,5 cm - D.: 1,5 cm.
Weight: 193 g.
Provenance: Cigarette cases, jewels, decorations or other objects presented in cases stamped with the imperial coat of arms of the Romanoffs were offered on the advice of the tsar and handed over by the imperial cabinet or by the emperor himself.
