TABATIERE.
By YARSHINOFF, St. Petersburg, circa 1810-1820.
In black tortoiseshell, of cylindrical form, decorated on the lid with a miniature portrait painted on ivory representing the princess Helena Alexandrovna Cantacuzene (1781-1847), after Dinoul, preserved under a curved glass in a gold frame. The gold interior is engraved with the identification of the represented character. Slight damage and small restorations, but good condition.
Title stamp: 56, St. Petersburg, circa 1810-1820.
Goldsmith's hallmarks: Alexander Yarshinoff, active from 1795 to 1826.
Miniature: Diam. : 8 cm.
Snuffbox : H. : 2,5 cm - Diam. : 9 cm.
