GIFT FROM THE IMPERATOR CATHERINE II TO THE GOVERNOR OF TOULA.
By HEMING and CHAWNER, London, 1776.
Set of 12 large circular silver plates, slightly hollowed out, of the filets pattern with six contoured gadroons, engraved on the top of the rim with the double-headed eagle of the Romanoffs under the imperial crown. Slight wear and tear, but good condition.
English hallmark: George III, London, 1776.
Goldsmith's hallmark: Georges Heming and William Chawner.
Inventory number of the imperial palaces' furniture guard: 12 and 13.
