Pair of Portuguese silver candlesticks, 19th century, Body decorated with plant motifs, with the shaft in the form of balusters, resting on a square-shaped base with reserves of flowers. With four claw feet. With Porto contrast (P-38.0 or variant), in use from 1853 to 1861, and hard-to-read goldsmith's mark, possibly JM (P-355.0 or variant), unidentified, datable from 1810 to 1877. Signs of use, scratches and minor defects. (2) Approx. weight: 734 g.; Approx. height: 23.5 cm.
