Fedot Vasilyevich Sychkov was a talented and original artist and painter of the countryside. Cheerful and masterfully executed works of the artist, the heroes of which were his fellow countrymen, - a peculiar chronicle of life of his native land, Mordovia. F.V. Sychkov saw his destiny in art in revealing the beauty and uniqueness of the village life, which he felt and understood deeper than many other artists, as he came from that environment and never broke with it. «I have devoted my art to the reflection of life in the Russian countryside» - the artist wrote.
