Author - Contributor: Dmitriev, MA (1832-1873) is an ethnographer, folklorist, director of folk schools in the Grodno province. He studied the material and spiritual culture of the Grodno province. The tales collected by Dmitriev were included in the most authoritative collection of folk tales «Russian folk tales» by A.M. Afanasyev. (e.g., No. 5, 26, 91, 126, 134)
Some of M. Dmitriev’s manuscripts are kept in the Central Historical Museum. archives of Lithuania (Vilnius). Rare edition.
