Spanish-Filipino school of the 18th century. Christ tied to the column. Sculpture in carved, polychrome and gilded wood. Christ is represented dressed only in the perizonum and tied by the wrists to a small column decorated with instruments of the Passion. It is a very frequent iconographic theme in Christian art within the Passion cycle. The scene takes place in the Praetorium of Jerusalem, he is exhibited before the crowd (scene called Ecce homo), he is stripped of his clothes and tied to a column, where he will be subjected to mockery and torture (among them, the flogging and the crowning with thorns ). 58 x 26 x 21 cm.
