Lengthy letter from Rabbi Leib Koenigsberger, talmid of the Chasam Sofer

Rav Yehuda Leib Koenigsberger, av"d Steinmanger, was a talmid of the Chasam Sofer in Mattesdorf and received semicha from him. He also learned by Rav Shalom Charif, av"d Lakenbach and received semicha from Maharam Benet. Born in Tzeilem in 1891, he served as dayan in Rechnitz and, from 1839, was the first rav of Steinmanger until his death in 1862. [HaChasam Sofer V'Talmidav, p 170-171].
