16th Century. Tanya - Cremona, 1565

Sefer Tanya - classic work regarding early halachos and minhagim by Rav Yechiel b"r Yekusiel Anav.

The work was put together to serve as a halachic composition to accompany the siddur, per the Italian minhagim, a concise adaptation of Shivilei HaLeket, with many supplements.
Printed anonymously by the author. Over time, researchers tried to identify the author, and it's generally accepted today that it was authored by Rav Yechiel ben Yekusiel ben R' Binyamin HaRofei.
This edition is the first to include an expansive index (divided according to 13 principles), and elucidations of difficult words.

In 1800, this work was printed in Zolkiew under the title "Tanya Rabasi, " and it's been known by that name ever since. (Possibly, in order to differentiate it from Likutei-Amarim-Tanya, that was printed a few years earlier.)
