Sant'Ana Teaching Our Lady to Read, XVIII
Exceptional Image in polychrome and gilded wood 18th century. Work with characteristics from the Rococo period, in the 18th century, configured in the slender composition of the figures, which gives more lightness and softness to the sculpture, and in the diagonalization of the back face of the mantle. Sant'Ana is standing, in a frontal position, with her head and gaze directed forward, Sant'Ana holds Our Lady with her left arm and, with the help of her right hand, an open book, on which she rests her hand girl's right. Our Lady is positioned laterally, with her legs bent. Under the clothing, the girl's toes appear. The plans are busy, with emphasis on Sant'Ana's mantle, sharply curved under her right arm. Our Lady's hair is striated, ending in locks. Resting on a base with three cherub heads, slight flaws. Height: 81 cm.
