BYZANTINE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP WITH LATIN CROSS
Ca. AD 300 - 500. A red terracotta oil lamp with a sunken discus displaying a Latin cross adorned with circular and rhomboid designs. The cross is flanked by two filling holes, and the discus is encircled by a decorative register. The nozzle is channelled and ends in a rounded spout, with a lug handle situated at the back.
